Get into the Spirit of Writing!

The Mary Roberts Rinehart Chapter of Sisters in Crime based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania announces the 2013 “Get into the Spirit of Writing” Annual Fall Retreat at the Bishop Connare Center in Greensburg, PA from October 4 - 6, 2013. Stay the weekend in either single or double accommodations, or attend Saturday’s workshops only for a Day Pass fee.

This year we are pleased to announce that we have retained Timons Esaias, author, poet, and adjunct professor at Seton Hill University's Masters Program for Writing Popular Fiction, as our headline workshop leader. His publications are too numerous to count, but some of his recent contributions have been both essays and short stories, including “Don’t Be a Bobble Head, and Other Bits of Guidance,” Many Genres, One Craft, Michael A. Arnzen & Heidi Ruby Miller, Eds., Headline Books (2011). Check out more on Timons Esaias at

On Friday evening prior to the workshops on Saturday, participants will have the option of taking part in our traditional work in progress critique session OR to brainstorm story ideas and concepts with fellow attendees. Those joining us should bring along their walking shoes, as the BCC boasts beautiful grounds and trails to take in the Western Pennsylvania's gorgeous Fall settings. Check out the BCC at
